Stuck for Gift Ideas?
Whether it's for birthdays, Galentine's Day, to say thank you, or just because, there's no need to get come up empty-handed.
I love getting gifts. I also love giving gifts, especially when the gift is something I’ve tried or am personally fond of.
And since there are almost 800 of you reading thePause (thank you for subscribing!) I thought it would be nice for me to share some of my favorite things with all of you. Hey, you might decide to buy yourself a gift, which is perfectly fine, too.
Arbonne has been around for 40 years, focusing on the healthy living movement. They have so many great products. No, I haven’t tried them all…but I was recently lucky enough to be invited to test their DermResults line of skincare, including eye cream, moisturizer, toner, cleansing balm, and serum. My skin feels seriously nourished and cared for. The products are too good not to be shared with your friends. These products are keepers!
Once I started sleeping with a sleep mask, there was no turning back. Blocking out light is one key to better slumber. This one does a great job of keeping out the light without pressing down on your eyes.
When was the last time you bought yourself or someone else a back scratcher? C’mon, admit it, don’t you get frustrated when you have an itch and you (or someone else) can’t get to it? Who doesn’t need a good sturdy back scratcher? Case closed.
A good friend surprised me with a “just because” gift (the best kind!) of this olive oil by Laudemio. And once the last drop came out of the bottle, I was so sad that I splurged and ordered myself another bottle. I save it for very special occasions, like when I make my own salad dressings or need just a sprinkle to perk up some veggies or pasta. It tastes luxurious and special.
I love long eyelashes, but eyelash extensions are not for me. (Too much upkeep and time spent laying still.) I’ve tried lots of different eyelash serums, but this one by Borboleta has risen above the others, and given me eyelashes that are almost too long; people think I’m lying when I say they’re mine, and all mine.
I’m so glad socks are back in style. I don’t mean run-of-the-mill boring socks to hide under a pair of pants, I mean fun socks made to show off, like these and these. Adding socks gives an outfit a bit of an elevated style, don’t you think?
These portable totes by Baggu fold up very small, so you can store them anywhere - in a pocket, in the car, or your handbag. The patterns are so cute, too. I have a bunch and they have lasted me forever. And they come in so handy when you’re traveling and never know when an impulse purchase is in the cards.
A comfy travel pillow is the next best thing to a smooth flight that arrives on time. This one by TRAVELREST gets accolades from many reviewers, including Wirecutter. An added plus: It’s machine washable, eliminating the ‘ick’ factor of airline germs.
I’ve had lots and lots of different portable water bottles, but this one by Owala beats them all for looks, comfort, and keeping my water at just the right coolness. The color combinations are cool and gorgeous, too. Drinking water is more fun with bottles named Camo Cool and Dreamy Field, I think.
Who can’t use extra lip balm, especially during the cold winter months? Like reading glasses, I’m forever misplacing mine. This four-pack by Bert’s Bees comes in yummy flavors like pink grapefruit and mango.

One More Thing:
Laughter is certainly one of the best gifts anyone can give or get. Laughing feels so good, and it’s so good for your health, too. Here’s a skit about Alexa (or is it Amanda?) that is guaranteed to make you LOL

Thanks for this great list of suggestions. I'm going to try the olive oil and the eye mask. I also have a problem with light, especially here in Sweden in summer. Cannot wait to try the mask!
